Captain Eric Frenzke, 2nd Battalion, 113th Infantry of the National Guard was guest speaker for the evening, sharing how Red Cross support to military members and their families is appreciated by those serving our country.
A special moment was shared as Chapter CEO Kevin Sullivan presented Cheryl Mooney with this year’s Bob Clancy Culture of Caring award. Cheryl’s mother Nancy surprised both Cheryl and the audience as she appeared dressed in a 1950’s Red Cross volunteer uniform actually worn by Cheryl’s grandmother Ursula. A 1950’s photograph of Cheryl’s grandmother wearing the same uniform during Red Cross response to Hurricane Audrey in Louisiana was displayed during the presentation.
Another surprise during the evening was a visit by The Three Waiters. The comedic act, accompanied by their talented vocals, was enjoyed by all!
Sincerest gratitude to the individuals and local businesses that provided a wide range of silent auction items that contributed to the successful fundraising efforts of the event. The Red Cross would also like to thank Creative Packaging Solutions for design and printing of our invitations; Italian People’s Bakery and Atlock Nursery for decorative items; and Viburnum for the beautiful floral arrangement.
