AMERICAN RED CROSS WATER SAFETY AND FIRST AID IS KEY FOCUS
OF DELOITTE'S 9TH ANNUAL IMPACT DAY IN NEW JERSEY
40 Volunteers Participate Locally in Deloitte’s National Day of Community Service, IMPACT Day, June 6th
| |
WHAT: |
Deloitte’s ninth annual IMPACT Day
More than 40 people from Deloitte’s New Jersey offices will office will put their regular calls and meetings on hold to donate their professional skills to support local nonprofits. The employee volunteers will be teaching a popular Red Cross on-land water safety program, Longfellow’s WHALE Tales, to 430 K-3rd Graders in Princeton. Safe behavior in, on and around the water are the key concepts in the lesson. The Deloitte employees will help these young children understand the importance of being safe around the water and help promote healthful aquatic recreation.
The employees spend the morning hours with American Red Cross of Central New Jersey staff to learn the Longfellow’s WHALE Tales lesson plan and then work in teams to develop their own teaching tools. After lunch, the group is divided, with teams presenting their lessons within 25 classrooms in two Princeton elementary schools – Community Park and Riverside. |
